5:00 pm - Board meeting (open to all members) Business:We encourage all to attend the business meeting. We have several important items to discuss, including:
Program:Ward Rummel is addressing the National ASNT Board of Directors at the Fall Conference. The heart of this presentation is a proposal to establish a new arm within ASNT to address "NDT 2009, Addressing the NDT Engineering Gap". A synopsis of this presentation will be presented at the Colorado Section Meeting. Open discussion and comments are encouraged. Ward Rummel is well known to the Colorado Section and to the ASNT National Organization. He was recognized with the Philip D. Johnson, Honorary Member Award in 2008. The Colorado Section is fortunate to have two honorary Members - Ed Edgerton and Ward Rummel. Other items:The colorado Section of ASNT is your local member organization for peer fellowship, interchange and mentoring: local NDT news; local needs and offerings; and focal point for discussion and personal growth. It is your organization and you get out of it what you put into it at the grassroots level. Your participation and input are needed to continue as an organization. We do not have a complete program for the 2009 year and need help in putting together a program that meets local needs. Our November 12, 2009 meeting -- Will be an industry tour at the Transportation Technology Incorporated facility near Pueblo, CO Our December 10, 2009 meeting -- Will be a joint meeting with the American Weld Society. we have invited Mr. Michael Walker, Proterra Corp, Golden CO, to speak about his work in developing a vehicle (bus) powered by electricity using fuel cells.
