Tuesday, April 8, 2008 6:00 PM - 8:45 PM Remote Field Inspection Applications to Thick Multilayer, Aircraft Structure [5:30 - 6:00 pm Board Meeting (open to all members)] Speaker: Prof. Yushi Sun Outline:RFEC Effect in tubing and flat geometries About the Speaker:Prof. Sun is an active member of our Colorado Section and President of Innovative Materials Testing Technologies, Inc. (IMTT). His work includes 44 years of experience in teaching and research in materials science, including 34 years as a faculty member of Harbin Institute of Technology & Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), China; Visiting Scientist, Colorado State University; Scientist, Queen’s University at Kingston, Canada; Scientist and Affiliate at Iowa State University; and President of IMTT. His research work has focused on electromagnetic NDI phenomena with unique work in remote field eddy current (RFEC) techniques including both hardware development and modeling. He is a senior member of IEEE, a Founding Member of International Computation Electromagnetics Society, COMPUMAG; a founding Member of the Iowa Chapter of ASNT and has served as a Session Chair and a member of the Editorial Board for a number of international conferences in computational electromagnetics and electromagnetic NDE. He has more than 130 publications on IEEE Transaction on Magnetism, Materials Evaluation, Proceedings of QNDE, SPIE Conferences, FAA/NASA/DoD Aging Aircraft Conferences, Tri-Service Corrosion Conferences, International Aircraft Corrosion Workshops, etc. and holds patents in both the US and Canada.
