Brian Wood has been active in the NDT industry for 20 years, predominantly in the Oil Country Tubular Goods industry, and holds ASNT NDT Level III certification in UT, MT, VT, and ET. Employed at Rocky Mountain Steel Mills (RMSM) since September 1998, Brian was directly involved in the design of the recently commissioned ultrasonic rail inspection system at RMSM.

A presentation will be conducted outlining the design phases of the state-of-the-art ultrasonic rail inspection system at RMSM. The system features phased array ultrasonic technology, innovative wheel transducer configurations and computerized instrumentation. A tour of the rail testing facility will be included.
