SUMMARY

The continuing challenge for assuring the reliability of engineering structures and systems is ever present. Life extension of aging systems presents unique challenges to both the design engineering and the nondestructive inspection engineering communities. This paper addresses requirements, methods, prior art, experiences, cautions and lessons learned in fluorescent penetrant inspection capabilities demonstrations to meet the challenges of quantitative nondestructive inspection.
